Come join Disability Resources and learn about a growing population of students who deserve equitable access to higher education: Students with disabilities. During our presentation you will learn about the Disability Resources office at Texas A&M University, the process students go through to register with our office, and how the Disability Resources Testing Center furthers our mission for equitable access. We will cover shifting from a functional limitations framework for viewing disabilities towards a more inclusive social constructivist framework and some assistive technology resources available to all Aggies regardless of whether they have a disability or not. Advisors should walk away understanding how they can make good referrals for their students, have a new framework for viewing disabilities, and with a greater understanding of technology resources available to all Aggies.
